Biography

Jessie was born in Columbus, Ohio, where she earned her BA in Business Administration from Otterbein University in 2013. Shortly after, she felt a calling to pursue a career in nursing and graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing in 2015. It was there that she developed her passion for HIV treatment and prevention, harm reduction, and infectious disease. In 2019, Jessie achieved her Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University School of Nursing where she concentrated on Adult-Geriatric Primary Care and HIV Primary Care. Since 2014, Jessie has dedicated the majority of her time and focus to the HIV/AIDS community. Highlights of her experience include working with patients living with advanced HIV at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, conducting HIV and HCV testing and community outreach with the Johns Hopkins Center for AIDS Research, and completing a 1.5 year HIV primary care internship in DC. Her approach to patient care is relationship-based and she strongly believes in empowering patients through education and involvement in their care. Jessie is so excited for the opportunity to join Dupont Circle Physicians Group and to provide culturally competent, patient-centered, holistic, and compassionate care within the DC community.
