Personal Interests

Outside of the office, Dr. Ward leads a quiet life with his husband, Earl Johnson, and their three dogs: Hazel, Sherman, and Henry. He enjoys art and has taken pleasure in decorating their home, as well as the office, with interesting pieces. He loves the outdoors and nature, and spending time in the Virginia countryside while hiking, gardening and bird watching.

Dr. Ward graduated from New Jersey Medical School, and did his residency in Internal Medicine at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, and then a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health.

He then entered private practice in Washington, DC, and has continued there since. Dupont Circle Physicians Group has become known as a center for the treatment of HIV infection as well as general medical care for gay men.

In addition to providing medical care, Dr. Ward has been active in clinical research, including the CDC-sponsored HOPS database, and has numerous presentations and publications in the field of HIV.
